Tours
Favourite tour
Mine was the In & Out tour. We did about 107 nights, in every city, and got to do a lot of acrobatic stuff, like abseiling in. The unfortunate part is it was never filmed as a live show.
Favourite venue
Difficult question for me. I love Belfast, I love the Globe in Sweden when it’s full, Manchester’s always fantastic, Wembley’s great and Dublin’s great.
Standout gig
The Coca Cola Dome in Jo’burg. We did it twice, and both times it was sold out and absolutely jammed. But actually, I think to beat that was two nights in Lansdowne Road on our Greatest Hits tour. For me on a personal level, I was going to Lansdowne Road as a kid to watch the Republic of Ireland play soccer from the age of six, and then to be there and play was incredible.
Favourite track to perform live
World Of Our Own
Most memorable fan moment
Sometimes you get requests from parents to play for their daughters who aren’t very well. This one girl wasn’t going to make it very long and we got up on stage and sang to her. It’s always very, very hard.
Most memorable banner
‘Nicky shake your shamrocks’
Funniest thing thrown on stage
There was a little baby thrown up on stage once. I picked it up, but it turned out to be a doll.
Most looking forward to on tour
Apart from the live crowds and all the screaming and the girls that throw their knickers at us, I would say the catering.
My dressing room requests
I like Celebrations sweets. I have to have them before I go on stage or I refuse to go on.
Being the nice guy
Do you always remember to say your pleases and thank yous?
I don't when things are manic, but i do when i'm with family and friends.
What's the nicest thing you've done for someone?
When i was 15, i went fishing with a mate and we caught five fish. On the way home, a nun came up told us her father used to go fishing before he passed away and she hadn't eaten fresh fish since, so we gave her one!
What's the nicest thing a fan has ever done for you?
Buying our album and being a Westlife fan is enough in itself!
Do you consider other peoples' feelings?
Yes, but i wouldn't care what someone thought of me if we had a difference of opinion.
Do you ever promise to call someone then don't?
Yeah, sometimes, but only if something happens, like i lose the person's number!
Are you always nice to fans?
As much as i can be. They put us where we are now, so no matter how tires i am, i always try to acknowledge our fans.
Who do you think is ace?
Cat Deeley - she's always been really friendly to us.

Television
TV Shows
Soccer AM with its presenters Tim Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain. The two of them are really funny together. And also, the way I see it, a girl knowing that much about football is very impressive
Pin-up
Scarlett Johansson is beautiful. There's something different-looking about her. I saw her in Lost in Translation and thought she was brilliant.
Snacks
I'm a complete sucker for Cadbury's Buttons. And I like to have a nice cup of tea with two-and-a-half sugars.
Switch-off
I'm not a big fan of reality TV and I really don't like Big Brother. I think it's disgusting and I literally can't watch it
Summer
My favourite holiday:
When I was about eight my parents and I went to Canada for two weeks. I’d never been to the States and it was just the best thing ever. We went to see the Falls, which was just incredible. I still love travelling to these big cities, but when you first see it at that age it’s just amazing.
My favourite getaway:
Travelling through the South of France.
My favourite hotel:
I like the chain of W hotels in the States. But Four Seasons as a whole, definitely.
If I’ve got time off I…
love to spend it with my beloved wife Georgina and my dog Keano.
My funniest holiday story:
I travelled to Miami with Georgina and Shane and Gillian. We took some photographs and I have this habit of playing paparazzi where I just grab the camera and take a picture. When we got them back there was one where Shane just looked like his face was inside out. He looked about 45 stone.
My suitcase essentials:
Wallet, phone, passport. With that I can get anywhere.
My favourite summer tunes:
This summer I’ve been listening to James Blunt, but if you want to talk about summer in general I remember when ‘Mr Vain’ and ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ came out. I also remember a song that Georgina bought me called ‘You Sure Do’ by Strike. I used to like that.
The place I’d most like to visit:
The south of Italy, right in the boot. I absolutely love it
